Tax Deductions: The interest on your mortgage and the property tax payments you have made during the year are tax deductible. NOTE: There has been talk about doing away with the tax deduction on mortgages. Be aware that the National Association of Realtors has been successfully fighting this issue on your behalf for several years!
Affordability: Renting is not a cheap alternative. Very often, you can find a home for the same monthly payment as an apartment (and you don't receive the same tax deduction benefit). Many people in apartments don't realize that they CAN purchase a home. There are more mortgage options available today than ever before. It is certainly worth looking into.
The Comfort of Community: When you buy a home, you establish roots in a community. You invest in that community. You take an interest in what is happening in that community. (Some people get very involved in making their community a better place to live - and that can be a very rewarding experience.)
Pride of Ownership: One of the most rewarding parts of my business is talking with people about their homes. There is definitely a sense of pride as they point out to me the improvements they have made to their home and as they show me the rose garden that they care for year after year. Home ownership certainly rewards you with that feeling of pride.
Memories: Last, but certainly not least, a home is a place where you build memories that will last a lifetime!
